OR EVEN SODOKU?
I was struck, when analysing the latest Google stats on keyword search terms on Sudoku that many, many people must be disappointed with their search results when looking to expand their Sudoku resources.
For the record, the correct spelling is Sudoku (pronounced Soo-Doe-Koo). And please do not feel embarrassed if you get it wrong: I still have to pronounce it softly to myself whenever I type the blasted word – and I do not care to even think how many hundreds, if not thousands, of times I have done so over the last few years since I lost my sanity and started writing ‘Win At Sudoku’.
This surprisingly hard-to-spell game is still incredibly popular (according to Google) with nearly 7.5 million searches around the globe every month for the most frequently-used search terms. The craze might be over but Sudoku is clearly both popular and troubling – for those who have yet to try the Win At Sudoku method.
And then I was reminded, whilst polishing my 2-part blog on Sudoku: A History*, of my favourite spelling variant: ‘Sodoku’, which is a form of rat-bite fever, because there have been many occasions since I got in to Sudoku, when it’s felt like I’ve been bitten by some sort of bug!
I think you’ll be enjoy the breadth and depth of my research – and the quality of the links – in this story on the Modern and Ancient History of this fascinating game.
But anyway, now you know how I get it right first time, every time: Soo-Doe-Koo.
It works!
